DETAILS
This painting is signed and dated on the front (bottom right. It depicts the artist’s wife Anastasia, and it is the very last one in a small series of erotic paintings created in the couple’s apartment in Manhattan (235 East, 87th Street) New York, USA, where the artist worked and lived from the early 1960s onwards. In fact, it is the only erotic painting of this series dedicated to his wife which the painter brought back to Greece upon his permanent return to the country in the early 1970s.

Ο πίνακας είναι υπογεγραμμένος και χρονολογημένος μπροστά (κάτω δεξιά). Απεικονίζει τη σύζυγο του ζωγράφου, Αναστασία, και είναι ο τελευταίος μιας μικρής σειράς ερωτικών που φιλοτέχνησε στο διαμέρισμά τους στο Μανχάταν της Νέας Υόρκης (235 East, 87th Street), όπου ο ζωγράφος έζησε και εργάστηκε από τις αρχές του 1960 και μετά. Είναι ο μόνος πίνακας της σειράς αφιερωμένης στη σύζυγό του που επέστρεψε, μαζί με τον ίδιο, στην Ελλάδα στις αρχές του 1970.
